Refund Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for paid Staxy subscriptions. It applies to the Staxy website at staxy.app and the Staxy applications for web, iOS, and Android (together, the "Service"), and it forms part of our Terms of Service. Words defined in the Terms of Service have the same meaning here.

1. How purchases are processed

Staxy is offered on a free tier and on a paid "PRO" subscription. We do not process card payments ourselves and never receive your full card number, card security code, or billing address. Every purchase is handled by a Merchant of Record, which is the seller of record for your order, depending on where you buy:

  • On the web (staxy.app): Polar (Polar Software, Inc.) acts as Merchant of Record and reseller for the order. Polar handles payment, billing, applicable tax, and refunds.
  • On iOS: the Apple App Store is the Merchant of Record.
  • On Android: Google Play is the Merchant of Record.

Because the Merchant of Record is the seller of record, refunds are issued by that provider in accordance with this policy, the provider's own buyer terms, and applicable consumer law. We do not charge your card or issue refunds directly.

2. Free tier

The free tier lets you try Staxy before you pay. We recommend using it to confirm that the Service fits your needs before you upgrade to PRO. No payment is taken for the free tier, so no refund applies to it.

3. Your statutory right of withdrawal (EEA and UK)

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving a reason.

Because a PRO subscription includes digital content and an ongoing digital service supplied immediately, by starting your subscription you expressly request that supply begins during the withdrawal period. For the digital-content element, you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once supply begins. For the ongoing service element, if you withdraw within the 14-day period, you receive a refund reduced by a proportionate amount for the service already supplied up to the moment of withdrawal. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived; where a mandatory right to a refund applies, you will receive it.

4. Subscriptions, renewals, and cancellation

PRO is a subscription that renews automatically at the then-current price until you cancel.

  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time through the platform on which you bought your subscription: the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the account-management link provided for web purchases. Cancellation stops the next renewal.
  • Access after cancelling. When you cancel, you keep PRO access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not provide partial refunds for the unused part of a current period, except where required by law or granted by the Merchant of Record.
  • After a refund. If a refund is granted for the current period, your PRO access ends and your account returns to the free tier.

5. How to request a refund

How you request a refund depends on where you bought your subscription:

  • Web purchases (Polar). Contact us at support@staxy.app, or use the customer-portal link in the order confirmation email from Polar, or the subscription-management link in the Service, to reach Polar's buyer support at support@polar.sh. Polar reviews the request and, where approved, returns the money to your original payment method. Polar's buyer terms are available at polar.sh/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
  • Apple App Store purchases. Apple processes refunds for purchases made on iOS. Request a refund through Apple using "Report a Problem" at reportaproblem.apple.com, subject to Apple's policies.
  • Google Play purchases. Google processes refunds for purchases made on Android. Request a refund through your Google Play account, subject to Google's policies.

If you are not sure where you bought your subscription, or you need help, email support@staxy.app and we will point you to the right process.

6. Discretionary refunds

Beyond your statutory rights and the Merchant of Record's policies, we may at our discretion ask the Merchant of Record to grant a goodwill refund, for example where you were charged in error or could not use the Service because of a fault on our side. Contact support@staxy.app and describe what happened. A discretionary refund in one case does not create a right to a refund in any other case.

7. Chargebacks and disputes

If you do not recognise a charge or believe it is incorrect, please contact us first at support@staxy.app so that we can try to resolve it quickly. Payment disputes and chargebacks are handled by the Merchant of Record for your order.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Each version is published as a dated, immutable version, and the current version is always available within the Service. Changes do not affect refund requests already submitted under a previous version.
